MV Agusta Brutale 675: the lightest, fastest, smartest middleweight naked ever

I know, I know, you’re thinking that this is one good looking motorcycle. But calm down for one second and listen to the specs: 113bhp, 52lb/ft and 163kg/358lbs (dry). Like the F3, this new MV Agusta Brutale 675 is also equipped with a counter-rotating crank and MVICS ride-by-wire and traction control. In Italy, retail is going to be just €8,990, €100 cheaper than the heavier, less powerful Triumph Street Triple R. Wow.

This is the MV Agusta Brutale 675

This is the first image of the MV Agusta Brutale 675 — a naked F3 — snapped by Motociclismo.it as the new model undergoes validation testing. What do we see? The same three-exit exhaust, frame, brakes and suspension as its faired sibling and bodywork very similar to that of the larger MV Agusta Brutale 990R that we reviewed in February. MV’s CEO, Giovanni Castiglioni, told us this baby Brutale will be, “priced below €9,000,” or exactly the same as a Triumph Street Triple R and specs leaked in March suggest the triple will be detuned from the F3’s 140bhp to a less peaky 120bhp. The Brutale 675 will enter production in February, 2012.

MV Agusta Brutale 675 specs leak: 120bhp, €8,990

Details have begun to leak from a dealer conference MV Agusta held in Varese last weekend. While no cameras were allowed and, to the best of our knowledge, no pictures have leaked, tantalizing details of new models have been revealed. What should you be excited about? Oh, just a 198bhp version of the F4, a Serie Oro version of the F3 and a price for the much-anticipated MV Agusta Brutale 675. :continue:

Giovanni Castiglioni on the MV Agusta F3, Harley-Davidson and two secret new models

We’ve been trying to make it happen since the deal was announced in August. This morning, it finally did. A frank and open discussion about the future of MV Agusta with its new 30-year-old CEO, Giovanni Castiglioni. This is the first English-language interview a Castiglioni has given since Harley paid the family to take MV back, just two years after  The Motor Company bought it from them. What’s he tell us? Well, that the three-cylinder, 675cc MV Agusta F3 should make 140bhp, for starters. :continue:
