Ask me anything
Busy week for us this week, but I’m over on Reddit today answering anything anyone asks me with one of their patented Ask Me Anything threads. Head on over and do just that.

Last year, the Mission R made history at the TTXGP, throwing down laps of Laguna Seca that would have qualified it for a Supersport 600 race. Here, some schlocky comedian (Wes is jealous -grant) talks to our buddy David Salguero before swinging a leg over the electric superbike. :continue:
Our favorite custom bike builder is teaming up with one of our favorite fashion brands to build a motorcycle. There’ll be free beer too this Thursday and the remaining two Thursdays in May as Hammarhead goes hands on at Dunderdon NYC. James won’t tell us what he’s turning this Bonneville into, but it’s apparently not just another Jack Pine. :continue:
For some, there’s nothing more exciting than a sleek modern sportbike. We head out to Idyllwild with Isle of Man TT and 250GP racer Jamie Robinson on some of SoCal’s twistiest mountain roads to put a Yamaha R6 and an Aprilia Tuono V4R through their paces.

You know, the little rubber flaps that you have to lift with your fingers every time you fill up your motorcycle, meaning you spill gas all over your tank three out of four times. Red Bull X-Fighters returns to America this weekend after a two week absence. The FMX event will take place at SoCal’s historic Glen Helen Raceway, which effectively birthed the sport as a spinoff of motocross racing. To promote the race, Ronnie Renner, Danny Torres, Keith Sayers and Maikel Melero (seen here) staged a little exhibition on Venice Beach. Sure beats roller bladers.

Everyone’s favorite scooter/moped/pit bike/mini moto/bicycle race is returning to Detroit’s re-discovered Dorais Velodrome with two dates this year. Thunderdrome will race on 30 June and 15 September, 2012. Make sure you visit the Thunderdrome site for full details, there’s changes to the registration process and homologation rules this year which mean you have to sign up ahead of time. You should, it’s the most accessible, laid back, fun motorcycle race you’ll ever participate in.
These TCX X-Streets look like pretty normal high-tops, right? Well, they’re not. With reinforced heel and toe boxes, a sturdy sole and armor over both sides of the ankles, they’re a dedicated riding shoe that should give you some protection and good support in a package that won’t make you look like a retarded elf. :continue:
