FIM e-Power splits with TTXGP
So where does this leave eGrandPrix? Well, as far as we can tell, ahead of the FIM. The series already has its own turnkey racer, the KTM RC8-based Mavizen TTX02 and even a US race already on the calender, May 14-16 at Infineon. It also has the benefit of existing teams, with many of the inaugural TTXGP competitors having already committed to the series. That brings its total number of races to six, four in the UK, one at the TT and the one at Infineon.
We're hoping to hear back from the FIM with details of its planned series and the reason why it ended its partnership with TTXGP. One thing it does have is access to major existing races. The four e-Power dates all support existing endurance races -- the Le Mans 24 Hours on 18 April, the Albacete 8 Hours, Bol d'Or on 12 September and the Doha 8 Hours on 14 November.

I can't think of anything more exciting than watching electric motorcycles racing. Can these things actually be called a "motor" cycle?
I'm sorry; I don't see how awful this is for electric racing. Two separate governing bodies add legitimacy as a "real" sport, and keep one bone-headed rule-making committee from totally screwing it up.
I think the concern is that what little investment and participation electric racing is currently able to garner is now being split in two.
Motorcycle is absolutely correct when referring to electric-powered, two-wheeled vehicles. Technically, internal combustion-powered two-wheelers should be called "enginecycles."
Very cool. The competition will be great for development of new technologies and the advancement of e-drivetrains. I was frankly disappointed to hear the TTXGP was going to become a 1 vehicle only spec class... doesn't seem to foster innovation. (Unless i am understanding things wrong about the TTXGP)
It's not a spec class, just open to electric bikes only.
Dammit Salad. You beat me to it. Enginecycle. Doh!
Does that mean that any American can buy an affordable e-race bike and (white-knuckle track ride)participate in a series of this caliber????
