2010 KTM RC8 R Akrapovic and Red Bull special editions carry flag for renewed US streetbike range

KTM’s decided to take the sale of streetbikes in the good ol’ USA seriously. Very seriously if these two special editions of the KTM RC8 R are anything to go by. We’re not usually fans of race liveries on road bikes, but somehow the broad, flat surfaces and sharp creases of the RC8 make this shotgun blast full of logos work. KTM calls the black bike the “Akrapovic limited edition,” but we’re going to call it the “Jeremy McWilliams” in honor of one of the toughest road racers ever to don a set of leathers. He currently campaigns the RC8 R in Germany’s IDM superbike series. The Red Bull bike makes the Homer Simpson school of makeup application look somewhat less successful, but we’d still have an extremely hard time saying no to this 170bhp, 91lb/ft, 182kg (dry) v-twin superbike.
