2010 Ducati Hypermotard 796: not as dumb as feared

Early indications were that the 2010 Ducati Hypermotard 796 would lose the single-sided swingarm and integrated brush guards/mirrors/indicators. It doesn’t and it even comes in nice colors — matte white (seen here), matte black or good ol’ red. No word on engine details or weight yet, but it’s supposed to be priced under $10,000. More info as the leak continues.
Update: 167kg (dry), 81bhp, 56lb/ft of torque, slipper clutch. 800cc engine is described as “completely new,” returns 49mpg, 20mm lower seat. Priced at €7990 in Europe. Frame redesigned to eliminate “forged elements,” new triple clamp.
Update 2: The 796 will retail for $9,995 when it goes on sale in the US in December.
