Basem Wasef just reviewed the Ducati Streetfighter for Popular Mechanics. His thoughts? It packages everything that makes exotic superbikes great into a street-friendly package.
Love this: "For more information on the Ducati Streetfighter check out Hell For Leather."
Wes, are you planning on doing a review of the Streetfighter?
I'd love to, we'll just have to wait and see.
We've got some exciting features coming in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned.
Ducati Streetfighter Vs. 5th Avenue please!
Ducati Streetfighter Vs. Carnegie Hall Concessions Stand
Great looking bike except for one thing that bugs the hell out of me - the little mini headlights below the main headlight look like a shrunken version of the 1098/1198 upper fairing and lights. If the headlights on a bike insinuate a face, this one is all squeezed.
i saw it today at the dutch tt in assen.
geez it's so fugly..
it's a ducati trying to be a kawasaki z1000 in a very wrong way
I took one for a ride to see if I wanted to trade in my Superduke.
SuperDuke - More comfortable, more entertaining to ride, more confidence inspiring, More aggressive, more Ramstien.
Street Fighter - Better fit and finish, sounds amazing, looks like something special, feels like something special, more power, more Depeche Mode.
If I owned the SF I would immediately install a taller wider bar like the SD's. Other than that I'd say it's a winner.
top engine
top Handling
Amazing styling ( personal taste)
Amazing finish
Racy as a 1098 but comfy too.
The best bike I've ever owned.period.
From what I hear, read, see, experience the best bike period.
To try it is too inflict serious damage to your Bank account!
worth every penny though.
When are going to see comparison....
Brutale 1078rr vs Streetfighter.... the spec are very close and the Brutale at least a year old...
Amazing finish ? You gotta be kidding ! Thats the cheapest control components that I've ever seen ... look a the damper, controls, ... euuurk. For a 22k bike, its totally unacceptable (I own a S4rs)
I am not kidding. I did have a s4rs too by the way.
The controls even if they're small are quite cool. they 're essential and easy to use compare to the antic switch board of the S4rs.
I love the trigger catch switch. It's fun and does it's job.
I loved my S4rs, before a toyota took it away from me. But it was by all means a older design, the SF is a modern bike, with modern performance and handling. I am just very happy with it.
To be fair, there are finish issues and little things that bugs me: Exhaust shield too far out..., Right side radiator tubing and clip quite ugly, a bit too much plastic on the s version (or not enough carbon...!). I would have liked a ohlins damper too, but not if it jacked-up the price...The standard one works perfect btw...
The construction is a bit more complicated than on the S4 and some of the gap between parts a bit loose sometimes. However the headlight is a jewel...and I find the overall design very aggressive and sculptural, yet elegant and balanced (my opinion...)
At the end I was able to accept to pay the price, eventhough I have to sacrifice a lot for it. I do not regret my purchase whatsoever... I'll keep on improving it a bit at the time, and enjoy it as much as I can (watch out for 'hem 'yotas).
It's acceptable that you find unacceptable...
Just don't buy it.!?!
Good, informative review.
