Mission One racer simulates TTXGP run in new streamlined bodywork
The Mission One just completed a 30 mile simulated run in the East Bay mountain roads of California. The video of the event only shows a relatively boring glimpse of the run, but we already know the thing corners. Most importantly we get to see the Mission One racer in what looks to be its TTXGP full race trim.
Very curvy and and organic with almost none of the fashionable hard lines we've grown accustomed to in current superbike design, the Mission One is more akin to a land speed racer or an early Aprilia RS3 Cube. This is especially so of the bulbous curves and folds of the tail section. We think that's a good thing. The streamlined "M" on the nose feels classy, giving the fairing subtle definition. It's a great touch of branding as well.
Whether the battery or motor configuration has changed is unknown, but we do get to hear the sound of bike for the first time. Naturally it has the very distinct and spooky whine of high-powered electric bikes.

The guy riding it in the crazy yellow helmet is Seth LaForge, sort of jack-of-all-trades hardware and software geek, as well as motorcycling geek. It's because of Seth that the Mission One will be successful. Go Seth!
Can't wait for the race. I wonder if these engines smell of sulfur and ozone? I need to see one up close.
Simulated run? Was it a virtual test? And is the race at the IoM going to be only one lap? That's what it sounded like.
Anyone know if the races will any US coverage? Speed? ESPN 8?
The Ocho? Extremely doubtful. We'll be covering it here.

That's not it, ray. Your video is likely a replacement to the one I wrote about. The new video shows more action The first video had the bike pass slowly in front of the camera only a few feet away, giving far more detail to the overall gestalt of the machine's lines.
Yes, the race is one lap. I wonder why they only did a 30 mile test, when the lap is a tough 38 miles. I'd want to do 50 just to make sure the battery lasted. The race takes place on Friday June 12. G
Not digging that plastic. I love the original design and think it has more character, although I suppose it is less aerodynamic.
It looks like they have a police car following them for at least part of their run. I understand why, but it's just as funny to see.
I'm definitely excited about this race and for all of the manufacturers involved. Being a local and having followed them for a while I'm quite partial to Mission.
I agree that the original body design is more interesting to look at, though this 'bubbly' appearance is definitely being used for a reason.
should've done a flyby so I can aurally decipher whats going on here. I cant believe i'm getting excited about this race. Some of the designs look very unconventional and this pleases the meatspin.
