KTM RC8 R becomes most powerful KTM ever
Equipped with an optional race exhaust, the 2009 KTM 1190 RC8 R makes 180bhp, 25bhp more than the regular RC8. It achieves this thanks to an 1195cc capacity (up from 1148cc), which has presumably been chosen to better equip it for Superbike racing and its maximum capacity for v-twins of 1200cc. The RC8 R is visually differentiated by its orange frame, black swingarm and easily the best paintjob of any 2009 superbike. Thanks to the RC8's already strong looks and this paint, the big KTM just rose to the top of the "most wanted" list we constantly run inside our heads. Yay it is a cool paint job, but I prefer the Tango all-orange original. & BHP aint everything.
The number plates on the front are a little wonky, but the origami inspired tail is very distinctive. I also like the in-body work exhaust. Very cool looking bike.
So any idea on price? drools
I just talked to a KTM Dealer in Austin Texas yesterday. The price of the KTM RC8R is $19,999. The price of the Akrapovic version is $23,999.
