Haven't had the chance to try NJMP yet, but its gotta be better than Poconos, hate that track. It's about the same distance from the city, right?
I'm jealous you guys got to ride the CR, I've been lusting after it since I first saw pictures (on here). I'd have to go with the MX bars though, those jota bars would kill the wrists.
Love the graphic and type choice. The rollover matrix of data was great with "image" being my personal favorite set of data points. As I keep scrolling to the right I am just disappointed at how dated the Buell looks. Keep up the good work
What were they thinking when they stapled those monstrous abortions to the sides of the bike?! From head-on it looks like a mutant ladybug taking flight.
And that is not a naked bike. I am disappointed with the growing trend of taking a bike, giving it less bodywork and calling it "naked". I'll forgive the odd chin-cowling or fly-screen, but to call this bike naked is preposterous.
Ultimately, I prefer to pronounce final judgment on a bike after having given it a proper ride... However, this thing is so contemptibly hideous I wouldn't want to show my ass the disrespect necessary to even sit on the bike.
The 1125CR is one of those bikes that looks better in person than it does in pictures. Those side pods are radiator scoops, but they also function as crash protectors, which is pretty neat. The little headlight and flyscreen actually looks really good tucked way back in between those pods.
I rode both a CR and an 1125R on that same day. Pretty impressive if you ask me, I was a little shocked at how well it could perform. The bowl/lightbulb/carousell was a little sketchy on the CR, it seemed to wallow around, but the 1125R seemed tighter. This is coming from a guy that brought a 748R to the track day. The street clutch action was horrible - I mean awful. I could barely get the bike from the Buell truck to the hot pit. 5 inches of travel and 1/4" of clutch engagment not matter what setting you used on the knob. Clutchless shifting on the track took that aspect away.
Dang. I bought a very lightly used 03 FZ1 this weekend for 4600. Coulda got a brand new Buell for that. Vaguely upsetting.
I would like to say that anyone who has not looked t a 1125CR really missed out. Old preconseptions fell away once you had a chance to ride one. The Helicon/ Rotex engine is a high output mill engine with a dynamic torque range that does not fail you when you poor on the gas. It has all the potental and grace to make the Ducti, Aprillia's, Super Dukes, and BMW's upset they didn't put it together first. Now that Buell is folding up operations if you can find one grab it! They are already a collectors bike from the time they rolled out the door. Most have 2 yr warrenties unlimited milage. Good Luck!
