2009 KTM 990 Supermoto R leaks ahead of EICMA
These pictures of the 2009 KTM 990 Supermoto R have just leaked. Over the non-R version it gains: Brembo Monoblock calipers; a smaller, more forward riding position-friendly fuel tank; lighter Y-spoke wheels; a black swingarm; and, like the 2009 KTM 690 Enduro R, white, black and orange paint paired with an orange frame.
It’s expected that the R will share the 990 Supermoto’s 999cc, 114bhp
v-twin, but may come with uprated WP suspension. Expect a
slightly higher price and limited numbers. KTM will officially unveil
the Supermoto R at EICMA 2008 in November.

i was just musing today what bike i would pick up for street duty...i guess this answers my question.
These make great street bikes. The height, the power, the gearing all come together to make a really fun/practical bike.
I will buy the 990SM-R anyday if it has the from headlight and fender of the SuperDuke !
got to have that scoot! when does it come to the states?
Will it come to the states?
