Dellorto celebrates 75th anniversary
Founded in 1933 as Società anonima Gaetano Dell’Orto e figli, Dellorto is most often associated with permanently dirty fingernails, oil-stained engine cases and vintage Italian race bikes. It still works with Gilera, building fuel management systems for the team’s 250GP racers, but is now better known as an original equipment manufacturer for companies like BMW, Aprilia and Benelli. Now seen as innovators in the field of drive-by-wire systems, the company is providing fuel injectors for bikes like the 2009 Aprilia RSV 4 and 2009 BMW S1000RR and cars like the BMW M3 and M5.
