New Alpinestars SP-1 suit gets simple
Refreshingly less flashy than other suits from Alpinestars, the new SP-1 nevertheless doesn’t compromise on protection or comfort. All the usual race suit features are here, thick leather, strong armor, a back hump and stretch panels, but gone are the over-the-top molded plastic addenda and crazy graphics. Like every other product from the Italian company, the SP-1 is absolutely covered in logos, but here they’re a simple contrast color and don’t carry quite as much tackiness. The SP-1 would look great on a classy European sportsbike and since it’s one of the most affordable Italian racing suits, it’ll leave riders of those machines with plenty of money to blow on expensive servicing.
