2009 Kawasaki KX450F combines fuel injection with kick-start

2009_Kawasaki_KX450F.jpgKawasaki is hoping that electronic fuel injection combined with a kick-starter will mean the right combination of power, light weight, and ease of use. The lack of an electronic starter and battery should save a few pounds, while the fuel injection should mean the kick start will work first time, every time. Expect added performance to come from the increased compression ratio, up from 12.0 to 12.5:1. Kawasaki also claim the new frame is 1.8lbs lighter than this year’s model, but have switched from quoting dry to curb weights, so we don’t yet have exact comparisons for the two.
