Ducati Monster 1098 could arrive by 2010
It's inevitable that Ducati will create a larger capacity sibling for the Monster 696, we just don't know when we'll get it or which engine it will use. Some suggest that, following Ducati tradition, it will be powered by the firm's last generation superbike engine, in this case from the 999. We think it's more likely that, because of marketing and manufacturing reasons, Ducati will choose to use a detuned 1098 unit. This illustration shows what such a bike could look like and should, with the exception of a few details like the exhausts and brake discs, be exactly what we can expect. Ducati is set to introduce 10 new models by 2010. We're betting this will be one of them. Another image follows the jump.
