Buell 1125R finishes 2nd in debut race, validates controversial design
The Buell 1125R placed 2nd and 5th in its first race, the 1000km Hockenheim. This podium finish should go some way toward validating Erik Buell's controversial new design. The 1125R competed in Class 4 for four-stroke bikes with three-cylinders or less, competing directly against factory teams running KTM RC8s and BMW HP2 Sports, as well as the usual assortment of Ducati 1098s and Aprilia RSV 1000 Rs. An HP2 Sport won the class, with KTM RC8s coming in 3rd and 4th.
