2009 BMW K1000R: Could this be it?
Motociclismo commissioned this illustration based on insider info and what we already know about BMW’s forthcoming 1000cc superbike. It will have a 1:1 power to kg ratio; it will be a 1000cc inline-four; its engine is compact enough to fit inside an R6 fairing; and it will use chain drive and upside-down forks. Codenamed K46, the bike could end up being called the K1000R.
BMW intends to take on the Japanese on their home turf with the K46, something they’ve never before done. In order to drive that point home, the German company intends to enter this machine in SBK for the 2009 season. We’ll keep you posted as more details emerge.
