European roads to get non-slip manhole covers
If the UK motorcycle lobby gets its way, the EU could be rolling out these new, non-slip manhole covers across its member states. If you’ve ever tried to brake, turn or accelerate over a damp manhole cover, you know how dangerous they can be. By replacing traditional slick designs with the heavily treaded version shown above, the EU will be taking a vital step toward making roads safer for motorcyclists. Now if we could just get the authorities in New York City to stop putting those 10'x10' steel plates everywhere, we’d be on to something.MCN
