Spy photos: 2009 KTM RC4 single-cylinder sportsbike
Rumor has it that KTM is developing a new single-cylinder sportsbike. MCN reports that it will make 78bhp and weigh just 132kg. If accurate, those figures would mean it could accelerate as fast as an R6, but would have a slightly lower top speed, probably somewhere in the 140-150mph range.
MCN goes on to claim that the RC4 will be powered by a retuned version of KTM’s existing 654cc engine, and the end product will bear a family resemblance to the RC8 Superbike.
